Description
A two-storey, three-bay, gabled house. Main entrance faces south. Entrance front symmetrical with a central doorway. Roof of synthetic slates; walls rendered with a dry dash of limestone chippings, swept over a smooth rendered plinth; two chimneys, one on each gable, rendered as previous. Windows are mainly large rectangular timber fixed lights with top-hung vents; thin projecting concrete cills. Entrance is in a similarly wide rectangular opening and contains a modern panelled door with modern sidelights. PVC rainwater goods. End gables are blank, rendered as entrance front. Rear return of similar character. SETTING: It stands within the built-up area of the town at one end of the main street, detached from an adjacent terrace, and facing directly onto the pavement. The building was described in the first survey in 1971 as "A random rubble blackstone house with rendered façade three bays wide. Windows are double hung in wide sash boxes, all with full glazing bars. Each gable rises to a rendered chimney; the roof is slated. The centrally placed door is sheeted and surmounted by a margined-paned rectangular fanlight."
