Description

Duncombe Farmhouse and Cottage, now a house and one cottage, were built in the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of coursed, squared, and tooled sandstone with pantiled roofs, stone ridge and gable copings, kneelers, and chimneys. It is two storeys high, with three windows on each level. A plinth runs along the base. The farmhouse has one panelled door and one boarded door, centrally located, while the cottage’s door is off-centre. Both doors have plain overlights. The cottage has modern pivoted casement windows, while the house has late 19th-century sash windows, all set within original openings. The roof has sprocketed eaves and corniced chimneys, with two at the ends and two on the ridge. The building was empty at the time of survey.
