Description
Manor Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse with origins in the 17th century, which was largely reconstructed and possibly enlarged in the early 20th century. It is built from roughly cut and squared ham stone, featuring ashlar dressings, and has plain clay tiled roofs with coped gables, including scalloped tiles on the rear wing. The building has a distinctive 'L' shape, with the east elevation comprising two storeys and five bays.
The windows are hollow-chamfered mullioned types, typically with three lights, except for the third bay where the ground floor window is two-light and the first floor is blank. This blank window shares a label with a flat-arched moulded recess that leads to the doorway. The ground floor windows in bays one and two have separate labels, while bays four and five display a stored label; these last two bays appear to be original work, while most of the rest has been rebuilt. The south elevation mirrors the east, also featuring five bays, with the windows in bay two and the first floor of bay three being four-light. The interior has not been seen. The farmhouse is included primarily for its group value.
