Description
Croft House is an early 18th-century house located on Clapton Road in Ston Easton. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with roughcast on one side, featuring coped verges and a double-Roman tile roof with end brick stacks. It has a symmetrical front with two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays. The windows are two-light, made of moulded stone with mullions, and each light has either a casement or a sash with glazing bars and stopped labels. The central door opening is framed by a stone architrave and features a six-panelled door with a slab hood supported by stone brackets. There is a short section of rubble wall at a right angle to the front, which includes a pointed arch door opening with a traceried door. Inside, the house has a fireplace with a broad wooden bressumer and window shutters.
