Description
The elevated causeway, built in the mid to late 19th century, carries a former driveway in the grounds of Westholme House, located about 35 meters south of the house's south facade. It is constructed from squared rubble with some ashlar elements. The causeway features a segmental archway with rubble voussoirs and a strapwork parapet supported by corbels on the west side only. At the south end, there are a pair of gate piers topped with hipped caps, along with paired wrought iron gates that have spear caps. There is also a short section of railings on either side, adorned with scroll decoration, and a short section of serpentine parapet at the north end. This structure formerly served as an approach to Westholme House and is included primarily for its group value.
