Description
Wood Vale is a house dating from the early 19th century, which is a remodelling of an earlier dwelling. It features a rendered exterior with raised quoins, a deeply moulded wooden cornice, and a tiled roof with ridge tiles and stone stacks. The building is two storeys high and has five bays. The windows are 20th-century casements with rusticated surrounds, and there is a 20th-century glazed door with a rusticated surround at the centre, topped by a 20th-century canopy supported by brackets. There is an extension at the rear on the left side, made of painted random rubble and covered with a slate roof. The property includes a random rubble dwarf wall and square gate piers with moulded caps. A mid-19th century decorative cast iron gate is present, along with a portion of enriched cast iron baluster to the right, although it is noted to be in poor condition as of January 1983.
