Description
Milborne Wick House is a 17th-century farmhouse located in Milborne Port. It is constructed from local stone coursed rubble, featuring an ashlar facade, and has a plain clay tile roof with stone slate base courses and brick chimney stacks. The building has a closed 'U'-plan and consists of two storeys with a basement. The south elevation has three bays and is adorned with chamfered mullioned windows; the outer bays have three-light windows, while the lower windows may have been deepened later and feature hood moulds. The upper centre bay originally had a two-light window, but the mullion has been removed and replaced with a casement window. Below this is a projecting porch that is accessed by a wide tapering flight of 11 steps. The porch has a coped gable front with a ball finial, a flat arched doorway, and bench seats inside. The plinth is present only on bay 3, and bay 1 has a small double light cellar window and a plain doorway. The other elevation matches the south side, but there is a single-storey 20th-century extension on the west side, which is concealed by a wing wall with a cambered arched opening. The interior has not been seen.
