Description
This is an 18th-century dovecote located 40 metres southwest of Toomer Farmhouse. It is constructed from coursed local stone rubble and features a stone slate vaulted roof cone, which has a blocked bird upstand and an obelisk stone finial. The dovecote has a circular plan with a diameter of about 5 metres. There is a door on the northeast side, along with two blocked window openings under the eaves and a small buttress on the north side. It was designed to accommodate approximately 325 birds in 13 rings of nest boxes.
