Description

This is a detached cottage, likely built in the 18th century, located about 50 metres east of the Church of St. John the Evangelist and All Saints. The cottage is constructed of near-ashlar ham stone and features a thatched roof with a coped gable on the south side, while the north side is plain. It has stone slab chimney stacks and an 'L'-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys with an attic and three bays.

The building has a plinth and three-light plain mullioned windows set in shallow recesses with recessed architraves. The windows include a central iron-framed opening light with square leaded panes. Between the second and third bays, there is a boarded door framed heavily, topped with a 20th-century hipped shingled hood supported by timber brackets. A small leaded window is positioned high in the north gable. The interior has not been seen.

Extending from the north-west corner of the cottage is a low stone wall topped with wrought-iron arrowhead railings. The railings feature diagonal braces to the standards, which are capped with cast iron finials. There are latching gates opposite the door, enhancing the setting of the house.
