Description
Bell Cottage is a detached house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of random rubble Doulting stone, featuring some ashlar stone at the quoins. The roof is gabled and covered with plain concrete tiles, with end chimney stacks. The front elevation has two large gables, with the right-hand gable projecting forward. On the left side, there is a recently constructed gabled wing. The house is two stories high and has a three-window front. Between the second and third windows, there is a projecting entrance porch with a gable roof. The entrance features a 20th-century boarded and capped door set in a chamfered stone frame, topped with a flat pointed arch. The windows are generally two-light, with moulded stone mullions and leaded lights set in metal casements, and stopped drip moulds above. The third window on the ground floor and a window in the east gable end have four-centred heads. In the apex of the right-hand gable, there is a blocked oval window with four keys.
