Description
Dunkerton is a 17th-century house constructed from squared random rubble made of Doulting stone, topped with a stone slate gabled roof featuring sprocketted eaves. It has ashlar stone chimney stacks at both ends and a central stack, with the left end and central stacks having moulded caps. The house is two stories tall and has a three-window front. The entrance is located under a lean-to, bracketed canopy made of double Roman clay tiles, positioned between the second and third windows. The 19th-century door is set in a restored chamfered, segmental pointed stone arch, which has an arched dripmould with foliated stops. The windows are stone mullion designs, featuring two- and three-light casements with dripmoulds on the first floor. The interior is said to contain fine moulded fireplaces.
