Description
Palairet Cottage is a detached house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of random rubble Doulting stone. It features a Welsh slate roof with a coped gable and end chimney stacks. The building is two stories high with a gable end facing the road, presenting a two-window front and a central entrance. To the left, there is a later extension. The entrance has a 20th-century door set beneath a late 20th-century stone porch with a gable roof. The sash windows are framed in plain ashlar stone surrounds, with flat stone lintels; the ground floor has 20 panes, while the first floor has 16 panes. Accompanying the cottage is a screen wall made of random rubble Doulting stone, approximately 1.5 meters high, topped with flat coping. There are three Doulting stone gate piers, which are dressed with semi-circular tops and deep sunken panels on both the front and back.
