Description
The former stable and coach house, located 10 metres north of the Manor House, dates from around 1840 and is now used as a house. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings, and features a roof of plain clay tiles accented with bands of scalloped tiles and an ornamental ridge between coped gables. The building is single storey and consists of five bays, with the second and fifth bays slightly projecting as gables, while the other bays have small gables adorned with ornamental bargeboards.
Bays one and three contain pairs of lancet windows with 'Y' tracery glazed casements, and bay five has a triple lancet window. Bays two and four originally featured tall chamfered four-centre archways, which are now partly blocked, with a boarded door in bay two and a pair of French doors in bay four. The major gables have cross-shaped vents, while the smaller gables have circular vents. The interior has been modernised. This building contributes to the setting of the Manor House.
