Description

The Bayly monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 15 metres southeast of the south porch of the Church of St. Michael. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of Doulting stone. The base is buried, and the tomb features two beaded panels on each side and one oval panel at each end. The west end has fielded panel pilasters, while the other pilasters are decorated with diamond and scroll designs. It has a plain frieze and a moulded hipped top. The monument commemorates Richard Bayly, who died in 1707.
