Description

This is a Gothic style house built in 1860, as indicated by a rainwater head. It is two buildings, numbers 41 and 43, Bridge Street. The construction is brown brick with ashlar dressings, featuring a cornice enriched with paterae and a parapet. A carved gargoyle is present on the right side. Ashlar sill bands, window surrounds, and patterned voussoirs are also visible. There are five windows, predominantly single lancets arranged in groups of two and three. An oriel window is situated on the first floor to the right, distinguished by a ball-flower cornice and a floriated finial. The entrance is sheltered by a pointed archway with a dripmould on the left side, leading to an original door adorned with trefoils and strapwork hinges. A later shopfront has been added to the right. Numbers 41 to 55 (odd) are grouped together visually.
