Description
The entrance gates, gate piers, and railings located 100 meters north-north-east of the Church of Saint Michael date from the early 19th century. They consist of ham stone piers and walls, with wrought iron gates and railings. The central pair of gate piers measures 650 millimeters square and stands nearly 3 meters high, featuring a chamfered plinth and a slightly projecting moulded cap. The heavy, ornamented gates are approximately 3.6 meters wide. The side piers are 450 millimeters square and 2 meters high, positioned 1.7 meters away from the main piers, designed in the same style. There are double pedestrian gates on the east side and railing infill on the west. The railings rest on an ashlar wall base, which is about 850 millimeters high, while the railings themselves are 700 millimeters high with skirted diamond spear tops, arranged in a double curve that spans about 7.5 meters in total length. These features are of significant value in the setting of the Church, the Manor, and the Almshouses, connecting with the railings of the Almshouses.
