Home Farmhouse With Boundary Railings 4 Metres To West

Home Farmhouse, also known as Higher Horwood Farmhouse, is a 19th-century farmhouse located in Wincanton. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, featuring ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof with plain gables. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has 16-pane sash windows set in plain ashlar surrounds, each with prominent keystones. The central entrance features a six-panel door within a semi-circular arched recess that has a plain fanlight above it. There is a two-storey extension to the north gable, which was originally a wagon house and stable.

To the west of the farmhouse, there are cast iron railings that enclose a small front garden. These railings are about one metre high and feature alternating hoop and moulded spike rails, with elaborate urn finials on the standards, all of which complement the design of the house. The interior of the house has not been seen.
