Description
Upton Cross is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of local lias stone that is cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The cottage features a thatched roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. It has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of four bays. On the ground floor, there are three and four-light hollow chamfered mullioned windows with square labels and rectangular leaded panes. The upper floor has early wooden casements with iron framed opening lights, mostly arranged as three-light windows, although the fourth bay has smaller two-light casements on both levels. There is an early 20th-century boarded door located in an open stone and thatched porch at the second bay. The interior has not been seen.
