Description

The Old Beams is a house attached to The Brick House, dating from the 15th century and 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It features a rubble structure with a Flemish bond brick front and a double-Roman tile roof, topped with a brick stack. Originally an open-hall house, it has since been floored. The building is two storeys high with two bays, showcasing 20th-century casements with two and three lights, except for a four-light wooden-mullioned window on the ground floor, which has a carved surround and a label above. The door opening is located to the left, leading into a 20th-century lean-to porch with a modern door. Inside, there is a cruck roof, a former smoking chamber, and chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
