Description

Red House and Linsey Cottage are a farmhouse, now divided into two dwellings, dating to 1737. The front of the building is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork laid on a plinth of coursed and squared rubble, with English bond brickwork on the left return. The roof is covered in double-Roman tiles with coped verges and freestone dressings, and incorporates brick stacks. The building is two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay facade mirroring a further three bays. It features stone-mullioned windows, some with four or five lights, and stopped labels. Some window lights have iron casements, others have wood casements, all with leaded lights. A stone doorcase with a depressed-arch head and the date "1737" above frames the original door, which is a studded plank door with iron strap hinges. A 20th-century door opening, set within a reconstituted stone surround, is located to the right. A blocked two-light stone-mullioned window is present in the attic. The returns of the building display further blocked windows.
