Description

The gates and gatepiers at the entrance to Staplegrove House are likely from around 1900. The gatepiers are made of ashlar Ham stone and stand approximately 3.5 meters high. They have a square shape, a flat top, a moulded cornice, and a square plinth. The gates are made of wrought iron, designed as a double set that sweeps up to the center, reaching about 3 meters in height. They are in the French 18th century style and feature highly ornate designs, including C-scrolls and naturalistic olive leaves, making them a very handsome pair of gates.
