Description
The railings and gates to the churchyard of the Church of St Peter date from the early to mid-19th century and are made of cast and wrought iron. They are set on brick plinths topped with freestone cappings and are designed in a Gothic style. The central gateway features cast-iron piers topped with large floral finials and has inset panelling with the lettering "VIA PACIS," along with raised lettering at the bases that reads "COALBROOKDALE." The ornamental gates are adorned with spear capping. On each side of the gateway, there is a section of railings with cruciform finials, and to the left, there is a secondary "kissing gate." These railings and gates are included primarily for their group value with the Church of St Peter.
