Description
Chilton House is an early 19th-century house located in Chilton Polden. It features a roughcast and colourwashed exterior, with coped verges and a slate roof, along with colourwashed brick stacks. The building has a symmetrical front, standing two storeys tall with three bays. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has 16-pane sash windows. The first-floor windows are adorned with ornamental louvred shutters and decorative panels above them. There is a central door opening with paired panelled doors, and an ornamental wrought-iron verandah spans the ground floor frontage. Each side of the house has a two-storeyed single bay embattled outshut with casements that include glazing bars, and there is a conservatory on the right side.
