Description

South Barrow Methodist Chapel, dated 1857, is constructed of lias stone with a plain clay tile roof, half-hipped at the west end with an abutment to the east. The chapel is a single storey with two bays. It has a plinth and semi-circular arched windows containing 20 panes with Y-glazed tops, set in plain surrounds. There are two similar windows at a high level on the west gable, between which is a stone inscription reading "Pisgah Chapel 1851”. A later extension of one bay with a flat roof is set behind the parapet on the west gable, featuring smaller windows matching the earlier design. A semi-circular porch archway is located to the left. A 20th-century pitched roof extension extends to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
