Description
This is a range of barns, likely from the 17th century, located about 10 metres west of Milton Farmhouse. The barns are constructed from ham stone rubble and feature double Roman clay tile roofs that are hipped at the angles. The east return has a stepped coped gable topped with a ball finial. The structure has an 'L'-shaped plan and is a single storey. It has simple openings and collar trusses of an early design. There are six main bays, with the fourth bay serving as a throughway and the fifth bay projecting as a cart house. At the north end, there is a higher section that is probably from the 18th century, and at the south end, there is a lean-to garage. Some internal doors and boarding partitions may also date from the 18th century.
