Description
Witcombe Farmhouse is a detached 17th-century farmhouse. It is constructed of Ham stone ashlar on the front elevation, with coursed rubble to the sides and rear, and has a Bridgewater patent interlocking clay tile roof with a sawtooth clay ridge between coped gables. Brick chimney stacks are also present. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows, with three lights above and four lights below, set within wave-mould recesses. A window is out of alignment between bays 1 and 2, and to the right of bay 2 is a moulded, cambered-arched doorway with a boarded door. Labels are present beneath the windows, except for those in the upper bays 3 and 4, and there are no labels above the doorway. A hood mould is visible on the south gable, along with a 20th-century window. The north gable incorporates a throughway under a double-roman clay tile roof with timber-boarded cladding at upper level. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
