Description
This is a 17th-century farmhouse with alterations from the 18th century. The farmhouse is rendered and has a shallow-pitched West Somerset slate roof with overhanging eaves, a moulded cornice, and stone stacks, one to the left and one above the central entrance, inscribed "1760 W.S." It is of lobby-entry plan, with two storeys and four bays, featuring three-light casement windows. A gabled porch is located in the outer left bay, and a lobby entry is positioned to the right of centre, with a glazed door and a flat canopy supported by scroll brackets. A service wing extends to the right, set slightly lower, and has a brick stack to its right and irregularly placed 20th-century casement windows. The interior reveals a stud and panel partition separating the two blocks, and in the right-hand half, there’s a pair of jointed crucks. A report by R. Hall of the Vernacular History Group, dated December 1972, is held at the County Record Office.
