Description

Somerset Lodge is a mid-19th century house built in the Gothic style. It is constructed with a rendered exterior and a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and consists of a main block of one bay and a slightly projecting two-bay wing to the left. The left-hand wing features a tall lancet window with a dripmould above a plain shield on a stone plaque, and a string course below. The right bays have square-headed openings with wooden mullioned casements, the mullions creating "Perpendicular style" tracery at the window heads. An ornamental bargeboard with a wooden finial is present on the gable, as well as under the eaves. The left return side has two bays with sash windows containing glazing bars. A glazed porch with paired glazed doors is positioned on the right-hand side of the house.
