Description

The Waterman family monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 14 metres south of the tower of the Church of St. Michael. The earliest inscription on the tomb is dedicated to Margaret Waterman, dating from 1758, and is found on the south side. The monument is made of dressed stone and features an elaborate chest design on a moulded plinth. It includes fluted corner pilasters and an additional pilaster at the centre of both the north and south sides. The tomb is topped with a moulded hipped slab and contains dedicatory inscriptions for other members of the Waterman family.
