Description

The Dowling Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 12 metres north of the tower of the Church of St. Michael. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a moulded slab with bolster ends and a fielded panel, as well as large cartouche sides that display texts. It has a heavy moulded base, and the earliest legible date associated with the monument is 1771.
