Description
Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with mid-19th century extensions. It is constructed of lime-washed rubble and features double Roman tiles and pantile roofs, with raised coped verges and ashlar stacks. The building has two storeys and five windows. A central gabled stair turret includes two-light casements. To the immediate left (south) of the turret, there is a 19th-century lean-to porch that houses a nine-panel door with raised stiles and rails, set in a doorway with chamfered and stopped jambs. Beyond this porch, a ground floor window is a three-light ovolo-moulded mullion casement under a drip. Above, there are two similar two-light windows beneath a continuous hood mould. To the right of the turret, the windows are obscured by a projecting gabled later wing. There are also similar, lower two-storey wings at the north and rear of the farmhouse.
