Description
The churchyard cross located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael dates back to the 15th century and is made of dressed stone. It features a base consisting of three octagonal steps, with the lower step being benched and having a weathered off-set. The cross has a moulded four-sided socket, with each side decorated with three heater-shaped shields that are uncharged. The shaft is a tapering square monolith set on a moulded foot, with the angles connected by sunk grooves. The head of the cross is missing. This structure is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No. 365).
