Description

London House, formerly known as Dobbs the Drapers, is a house located on the west side of The Square in Wiveliscombe. It dates from the early 19th century and has remnants of an earlier structure at the rear. The building is rendered and features raised quoins, a moulded cornice, and a slate roof with brick stacks. It is three storeys high and has four bays. The ground floor has been stripped out, while the upper floors have sash windows with glazing bars set in slightly raised surrounds, adorned with rusticated voussoirs. There is a 20th-century extension along West Street that intersects with the gabled rear elevation, which is likely from the 18th century. The house is currently derelict.
