Description
The Croft is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior designed to resemble ashlar stone, with quoin strips and a moulded cornice. The low-pitched roof is covered with Welsh slate and is hipped to the right, where it has three brick chimneys. The right return elevation is hung with Cornish slates. The building has three storeys and two bays, with sash windows that have glazing bars set in slightly raised surrounds with rusticated voussoirs. The ground floor includes a tripartite window in a slightly recessed segment-headed surround. A Tuscan porch with a diamond pattern frieze leads to a panelled door that is half filled with coloured glass. There is also a panelled forecourt pier on the right that matches the pier of Thornes the Butchers nearby.
