Description
Richmond House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is mainly built of coursed rubble, with some ashlar stonework and an ashlar plinth. The roof is a slate mansard style with coped verges, featuring three box dormers that have 20th-century casements and brick end stacks. The facade is symmetrical and classical, consisting of two storeys and an attic with three bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in bead moulded stone surrounds, with the outer windows paired and a central stone dividing mullion. The central door opening is also in a bead moulded stone surround, topped by an edge moulded stone hood supported by cut stone brackets. The door itself is six-panelled, with the top two panels glazed. At the rear, there is a gabled wing that is set at right angles to the main structure.
