Description
Japonica Cottage and Laburnam Cottage form a pair of detached cottages dating to the early 19th century. They are constructed with a rubble core, rendered on the exterior, and feature a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles. Brick stacks are visible on the gable ends and centrally. The cottages have a two-cell and cross-passage plan, arranged over two storeys and four bays. Above the entrances are blank panels. The windows are 3-light wooden casements with leading. Plank doors with inset-lights are situated between the first and second bays on the left and right sides, and are sheltered by lean-to, trellis-work porches. The returns of the cottages display full-height, pointed-arch inset panels.
