Description
The gate, gate piers, and flanking wall adjacent to the lodge to Chantry were built around 1827 by John Pinch for James Fussell. The gate piers are made of rusticated Doulting ashlar and stand 2 metres high, featuring moulded caps. There is a pair of wrought iron gates. To the right, a coursed and squared Doulting rubble wall extends for 70 metres, topped with flat coping. To the left, there is a low plinth that once supported railings, along with a further squared rubble pier with capping; the rubble wall continues for an additional 170 metres. At the far end, there is a pointed arch door opening with a plank door.
