Description
The churchyard cross, located about 25 metres south of the Church of All Saints, dates from the late 13th century and is made of Ham stone. It features an octagonal base with four moulded steps, each face measuring approximately 1.5 metres long. Above the base is a near-cuboid socket with quasi-broached top corners, measuring about 700 mm in each direction. The tapered shaft, which has moulded edges, rises to nearly 3 metres in height and is topped by a late 19th-century cross. The original finial is said to have blown down in 1869, as noted by Pooley in "Old Crosses of Somerset" published in 1877.
