Description
Bolter's Bridge is a footbridge that spans the River Albam and dates back to medieval times. It is constructed from randomly laid lias rubble and features four segmental pointed archways with rough hewn voussoirs and slab imposts. The bridge has no parapets and includes a narrow cobbled causeway. There are three cutwaters on the upstream side and a short section of splayed rubble wall at the north-east corner that supports the bank. The bridge appears to be virtually unaltered and is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 43).
