Description
Boulter's Bridge is a footbridge that spans the River Alham and has its origins in the medieval period. The bridge is constructed from randomly laid lias rubble and features four segmental-pointed archways with rough-hewn voussoirs and slab imposts. It does not have parapets and includes a narrow cobbled causeway. There are three cutwaters located upstream, along with a short section of splayed rubble wall at the north-east corner that supports the bank. The bridge appears to be virtually unaltered and is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is important to note that half of the bridge is located in the West Bradley Civil Parish.
