Description
This barn, located about 20 metres southeast of Ludney Farmhouse, dates from around 1833. It is constructed of ham stone rubble and features a roof made of corrugated asbestos cement sheets, which replaced the original thatch. The east gable is stepped and coped, topped with a ball finial, while the west end has a hipped design. The barn consists of six bays and has a collar trussed roof, which was partially damaged by fire in the late 1960s. On the north elevation, there are a pair of tall doors towards the west end, along with two lean-to buildings attached to this side. The south elevation includes a horse-engine house with a conoid thatched roof, which originally had an open curved south end that is now blocked, although the original structure remains intact inside.
