Description
The Old Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with modifications made later. It features a near-ashlar facade made of Ham stone, with cut and squared stonework on the sides and rear. The building has a thatched roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has five bays.
On the ground floor, there are hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses with labels. The first and third bays have 3-light windows, the fourth bay has a 4-light window, and the fifth bay, which originally had a 4-light window, now has a casement where the mullions have been removed. The second bay had a small window that is now blocked. Above these, there are 3-light casements, all rectangular-leaded except for the third bay, which features horizontal bars and iron-framed centre lights. To the left of the lower fifth bay, there is a 6-panelled door from the 18th century set in a recess, accessed by four steps and topped with a timber lintel. The south gable has casement windows, while the north gable features a later pattern VR letterbox by Allen. The rear includes a lean-to and additional leaded casements. The interior has not been seen.
