Description
Manor Farmhouse, marked on the OS map as Knowle Farm, is an 18th-century building that has been converted from a farmhouse to a house. It features Flemish bond brickwork and has concrete double Roman tile roofs with a brick stack. The farmhouse has an unusual three-unit frontage, with a tall three-storey central block that has a single window on each floor. Flanking this are two-storey wings, each with a single window, and shallow hipped roofs. The centre block has a front-facing gable with red tile coping. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, including tripartite windows on the ground floor of each wing and the first floor of the centre unit. There is a wide elliptical-headed central doorway with a 20th-century six-panelled door and sidelights featuring ornamental glazing. A large portico spans the full width of the centre unit, supported by four Tuscan columns and topped with a plain pediment. The farmhouse occupies a prominent position alongside the road.
