Description
This small cottage, dating from the early 19th century, is located immediately east of Kingsmoor House. It is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble and features a clay pantile roof with gable ends. A red brick stack is positioned at the gable end. The cottage has a simple one-room layout, with the gable-end stack on the left. Entry is through a front doorway on the right, leading to a ladder stair on the right that accesses an unheated chamber above.
The exterior is one storey with an attic, showcasing a south front that has one window. This window is a three-light casement located on the left, while the doorway on the right has a plank door, both adorned with cambered brick arches. The attic window in the right gable is boarded over, and the back wall is blind.
Inside, the ground floor room features exposed joists, a blocked fireplace with a wooden moulded chimneypiece and a birds-nest grate, along with a simple ladder staircase with panelled sides. The chamber above is ceiled but does not include a fireplace.
