Description
Bradney House is a country villa dated 1837 for William Herman, as indicated on a quatrefoiled panel at the rear. The building is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features wide eaves, a hipped slate roof, and rubble stacks. It has a symmetrical frontage facing the garden, with two storeys and three bays that include 20 and 25-pane sash windows. The central door opening contains a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, and is adorned with a two "trellis" porch made of iron and wood, topped with flat lead capping. The interior retains coeval features. There is a high rubble wall at right angles to the rear that bounds the driveway entrance, along with another section that borders the roadside; both sections are backed by English bond brick that faces the garden.
