Description
Brook House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a stone stack on the left gable end, with an inserted brick stack rising from the eaves below, and another brick stack on the ridge between the first and second bays on the right. The plan consists of three cells and a cross passage, though it has been much altered. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a layout of one bay on the left and two bays on the right. It includes 16-pane sash windows, all of which have rusticated stone lintels. The entrance features an ogee-headed doorcase with a divided tracery fanlight, positioned between the first and second bays on the left. Additionally, there is a bell pull and a pentice stone porch supported by decorative brackets. The right end bay is buttressed.
