Description
The three gatepiers and gates to The Memorial Hall at King's School were built between 1919 and 1924 by architect A I Pictor, a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, based in Bath and Bruton. They are constructed from Doulting stone ashlar and feature square piers that are approximately 200 mm at the base. Each pier has a high chamfered plinth, cornice caps, a step, and pyramidal finials on waisted bases. Between the piers are well-crafted wrought iron gates. These gatepiers and gates are an integral part of the designed setting for the Memorial Hall.
