Description

Two houses, probably originally a single dwelling, date from the early 19th century. The houses are built with a render over brick and have a double-Roman tile roof, with two brick ridge stacks to the left and one to the right gable end. They have a double-depth plan.

The Blake Street facade is two storeys high and has a three-window range. All windows have flat arches and 8/8-pane sashes, except for one first-floor window to the left and two central windows, which have 6/6-pane sashes. To the far left of the Blake Street facade is a painted panelled wooden pilaster and a door, probably a former window, with six reeded panels and a square fanlight. The door to No. 2 has eight raised-and-fielded panels within a doorcase featuring panelled pilasters, a lintel, and top corners.

The Dampiet Street facade has a cornice and returned parapet to the left, a panelled wooden pilaster to the left, and a plain painted stone pilaster to the right. It also features moulded wooden architraves around the 8/8-pane sash windows.

Inside No. 2A, which is now offices, there is a door with eight raised-and-fielded panels, an elliptical-arched recess, and a four-panel door. The interior of No. 2 has not been inspected.
