Description

No. 6, Blake Street is a late 18th-century house, now converted into apartments. It is situated in Bridgwater. The house is constructed of Flemish-bond brick, with a stone coping to the parapet, a painted stone cornice, stepped voussoirs, and a cill band to the first floor. It has a double-depth plan, with a 20th-century rear range. The house is three storeys high and has a four-window range. It features flat arches over the 6/6-pane sash windows, some of which have crown glass. The door, located to the left of centre, has eight panels, with raised-and-fielded detailing to the upper part and beaded detailing to the base. The doorcase has Tuscan pilasters, an open pediment, and a semicircular fanlight containing two panes of glass. An iron ring is attached to the left of the door. The interior has not been inspected.
