Description
Nos. 5 and 6 Parrett Works Cottages are an end pair in a row of six cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed ham stone rubble and feature single Roman clay tile roofs with stepped coped gables on the northwest side, along with brick chimney stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of two bays. They have two-light small-pane casement windows set in segmental-arched openings, and each cottage has a boarded door in matching openings—bay 1 in No. 5 and bay 2 in No. 6, the latter of which includes a glazed panel. There are projections at the rear of the cottages. The interiors have not been seen. These cottages are associated with the Parrett Iron Works, which was established on the site of an earlier mill around 1855.
